blends land, story, and rebellion in both art and writing. Her lyrical, unsparing work explores ecology, sovereignty, and human accountability. As Stella, she turns Relationship Anarchy into sharp, humorous lessons on love, community, and decolonial care — a single voice challenging how we live, love, and relate.
Jacqueline’s writing is lyrical yet incisive, weaving together ecology, Indigenous sovereignty, and social justice, with a keen focus on uncovering deeper truths beneath everyday narratives. Her work combines reportage, personal reflection, and cultural critique, grounded in careful research and attentive observation. She has been published in outlets such as the Manitoulin Expositor, where her journalism illuminates environmental issues, Indigenous perspectives, and community resilience, always with a voice that is both rigorous and deeply human.

Jacqueline’s visual art is bold and lyrical, using canvases and beadwork to reclaim space from the male gaze. Her pieces assert autonomy and perspective, transforming traditional forms into statements of resistance and self-definition. Each work invites viewers to engage with intimacy, texture, and narrative through a lens of care, presence, and defiance.

Jacqueline, performing as Stella Monique Vandal, presents Relationship Anarchy with sharp humor and vivid insight. Her talks and performances challenge conventional hierarchies in love and connection, blending storytelling, satire, and radical care. Through wit, provocation, and personal reflection, she invites audiences to rethink intimacy, community, and autonomy, turning complex ideas into engaging, transformative experiences.
Letter to the Editor: One hundred and forty-six years of publishing Manitoulin's newspaper! That is something to be proud of. And No.1 of Volume 146 was a doozie! Sometimes I can skip through my copy of the "Spoz" in a half hour, but this on kept me reading for two and a half. My kudos to Jacqueline St.Pierre for the best researched and well written article on Ontario's odious Bill 5, and to Grand Chief Linda Debassige for her excellent response."

As an academic and community member of Whitefish River First Nation, I am delighted to offer my endorsement for Jacqueline St. Pierre insightful, timely and relevant journalism, in particular, her reporting for Manitoulin Island residents and visitors alike. I am familiar with her work, primarily in the Manitoulin Expositor, a weekly newsletter reporting on the news, events and community events. More specifically, she wrote a “good news” story, chronicling my environmental and climate research at the University of Calgary. I received immediate positive comments from people who know me as a result of her article on my research in the Expositor. I much enjoyed my conversation with Jacqueline, and it was clear to me her enthusiasm for storytelling is her calling. Jacqueline is genuine, respectful and curious, all-important qualities for the type of reporting she does. I particularly appreciate her coverage of Indigenous, environmental and justice topics as she approaches often difficult issues with sensitivity and professionalism. A prolific writer and artist, her coverage of topics ranging from the Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) Elders work to ban glyphosate spraying across Anishinaabek territory to international climate litigation outcomes. As a journalist, her commitment to emphasizing how global news is relevant to the local is tremendous and provides an important service to not only report on news but generate much needed education and awareness. I would describe Jacqueline St. Pierre as a talented, smart, and caring journalist, seeking to make a difference with her readers to have a positive impact in society.
